River Island X Ashish Collection

After another crazy summer full of amazing festivals, events and much more we’re back with a brand-new blog!

We thought we’d kick it all off by showcasing the amazing event some of our dream team recently attended to celebrate the launch of the River Island X Ashish collection. River Island hand-picked a select few bloggers to stay in a beautiful countryside house in Dorset and attend Bestival decked out in all the latest #RIXASHISH pieces.
To add that perfect finishing touch to their festival outfits, dream girls Ellis and Valandia visited the house for the day and embellished all the bloggers with glitter and intricate gem headpieces to get them Bestival ready.

Throughout the weekend of Bestival, the bloggers took to social media to share their festival experience with their followers and we are loving these pictures showing off their glitter and embellished headpieces! We loved being able to incorporate matching glitter and embellishments to everyone’s outfits and add some extra sparkle to the day.

This A/W 2017 collection is a first for the River Island design forum as it is designed to be gender neutral. The 15-piece collection consists of a range of pieces including slogan sweatshirts, t-shirts and sleepwear as well as the signature Ashish style sequin dresses which we love! This particular collection prides itself on being relaxed enough to slouch around the house in, yet stylish enough to be worn out too.

This River Island collaboration is slightly different from Ashish’s normal work, with the runway models normally being dressed in full sequin garments which never fail to impress the rest of the fashion world. With all of our dream team being huge sequin lovers, Ashish’s signature creative style is always something we’ve got our eyes on during fashion week!

With all great catwalks comes amazing makeup looks, and this is another thing we love about Ashish. The innovative approach Ashish takes to put different makeup looks on each model goes hand in hand with the diversity and sometimes controversy that the collections create.

We’ll definitely be taking inspiration from this AW17 show for our upcoming  Halloween looks…coming soon!

Glitter roots were one of the huge festival fashion trends this summer and we can definitely see this Ashish take on the trend from their SS16 collection catwalk using sequins catching on next festival season.
